When’s the last time you had a good heart-to-heart talk with your house?

That’s the Question posed by the diynetwork.com in their post “A Consumer’s Guide to Home Security Wireless Alarm Systems“. They go on to say, “I mean a real soul-searching, tell-it-like-it-is discussion about your needs and desires?”

That is sort of how people are feeling about the Homes, and Their Businesses, that they’ve worked so hard to build. One of my favorite movies makes it very clear that “There in no place like home”.

To me, it’s somewhere between a little strange, and very intriguing, to have a home that can let me know when the temperature drops, or who is at my front door, or when an intruder has entered, or perhaps as I recently saw at a friends home, when the kids sneak in the treat cupboard! However, there is an ever growing demand for such systems in homes and businesses.

Some of it seems a bit trivial, but imagine being a business owner and being able to monitor your Business, Coolers, Storage Temperatures, and so on from anywhere! Of course, there would be advantages to having that home too! Right?

So, all this led me to go look and see what the trends are in the area of Security and Automation.

2) Improved Home Security Monitoring

3) New Smart Devices in the Home

I must say I do really like #3. Which includes having air and water quality monitors send custom push notifications to your smartphone whenever something in your home and business goes wrong!

There are probably as many uses as their are imaginations. However, are they deemed necessary and what kind of market potential are there for Security and Automation Services?

  • Revenue in the Smart Home market amounts to US$23,556m in 2018.
  • Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2018-2023) of 13.7%, resulting in a market volume of US$44,791m by 2023.
  • Household penetration is 27.6% in 2018 and is expected to hit 53.9% by 2023.

So, evidently, there really is definite income potential for those who get into this Industry now. With Market Forecasts set to more than double in the next 5 years!
